This is a little public service announcement that I’ve been holding back on until such a time as the little icon on my RSS feed stops breaking. Right now it seems to be fine, though I’m sure I’ve jinxed it now I’ve mentioned that.

RSS feeds are a cool way of getting updates that bypasses the hassle of having to remember schedules or relying on The Algorithm to remind you (in-between scrolling through cat pictures and photos of that kid at school you hate getting a promotion). I was alerted to the idea by a random musing I’d encountered from Jess A. M. (aka “jam-etc”, who does really cool animations and fanart that you should definitely check out) as I’d noticed my wordpress theme had that little icon in the top corner but never really delved into what it did, until I fell into this particular proto-internet rabbit hole. Those were the days when anyone could become a webcomic artist, the world was new and unformed, and Sinfest was still a trailblazing well-drawn strip and hadn’t yet been corrupted by terf brainworms into a literal nazi screed. A magical time that I’m sure was utterly miserable for loads of people who actually lived through it, but dropping an early-noughties nostalgia chapter has me in an early-noughties nostalgia mood.

If you want to check out some of the other comics I wedged into this image (and maybe start building up your RSS feed collection), a bunch of them are on my Links page here! And now…back to the comic!

Many of you will be coming into Nancy’s adventures for the first time with this chapter, and with nearly five hundred pages to slog through asking you lot to catch up in time for the new chapter to begin is going to be a bit unreasonable – and so I’ve prepared a Primer on the “About the Comic” page to bring you to up to speed and cover anything a speed-read may have missed. Be warned, spoilers abound!

But if you don’t mind starting Nancy Brilligan’s exciting adventures from the beginning without any shortcuts, you can catch up with Chapters One, Two, Three, Four, Five and Six! Come here for a fancy wallpaper or a String-themed playlist, which you can also find below:

And if you fancy stuff I’ve made that’s not String, take a gander at Rosie’s Journey, a storybook I wrote way back when for my niece.

You can support “String” on Patreon here! Higher-donating patrons (and by “high” I mean a fiver a month) will receive each new page this chapter in glorious high resolution on the same day as the update! Even higher donors will receive high-quality PDFs of all previous chapters!

Join us every Tuesday and every Friday for new adventures!
