Just buy stock in Apple and leave the future alone, you busybodies.
The present day has enough injustices to keep us busy.

Panel 1:
Enid slumps. Wording tosses the accounts aside.
ENID: I only wanted him to...to be proud of me.
ENID: Just once.
WORDING: You’re already handling all his accounts, you don’t need to bend reality to earn his love. That’s a wild overreaction.
WORDING: You ever find yourself in Vienna, go track down a fella named Freud, he’d have a field day with you.
Panel 2:
Enid looks up, surprised. Wording crosses his arms as Solomon sidles over.
ENID: So what happens now? Are you going to arrest me, or…?
WORDING: Frankly, I’ve no idea what to do with you. At most I’m hoping writing a note to Scotland Yard to keep an eye on you won’t stop my mother being born or something.
SOLOMON: Actually, about that, guv. You got a moment?
Panel 3:
Wording, Solomon and Russell crowd each other conspiratorially.
WORDING: No. Whatever it is you’re thinking, no, we’re not preventing Archie Duke shooting an ostrich cuz he’s hungry.
SOLOMON: But think of where we are, guv! Miss Johnson needs to make amends, right? What better community service could there be than taking down the whole British Empire, eh?
RUSSELL: Des, they’ve already got people in this time who say colonialism sucks, no one listens to them, is all.
Panel 4:
In the back, Enid is outside the conversation and has no idea what they’re talking about.
SOLOMON: She’s a society lady! She’s got connections! Y’know, get a seat at the opera next to the head of White Star Line and persuade him that maybe it’d better to have enough lifeboats for everybody instead of a few for show?
RUSSELL: Well where does it end? You want her to slip a cheque to the Viennese mob and ask them to put a hit on an Austrian painter? What if that just makes him a martyr and someone even nuttier shows up and starts killing everybody? You don’t know how these things will turn out-
Panel 5:
Wording snaps at both of them. They shrink.
WORDING: It doesn’t matter “how it will turn out!” We’re not doing it!
WORDING: This is the sort of thinking that leads to Brilligan cricket-batting you in the face!
WORDING: If we want to replace her, we need to be better than her, not worse!
Panel 6:
Solomon cowers as Russell tries vainly to shrug off the verbal assault.
WORDING: Now stop indulging fantasies and do your jobs!
WORDING: We’ve got a shattered reality to piece back together and it’s not going to do it by itself!
