Panel 1:
Trixie, Nancy and Chambers confer. Trixie is still nursing a bruised cheek.
CHAMBERS: I’ll stall ‘em as much as I can. It’s the least I can do.
NANCY: There’ll be media, journalists, you have to tell them what happened here.
TRIXIE: Not sure how much of it they’re gonna buy, but there’s one bit we’ll definitely stress.
Panel 2:
Chambers opines as Bayani sidles up to Si.
CHAMBERS: Gotta say, I’ve developed a more jaundiced opinion of my profession than I woke up with this morning.
SI: Congrats, copper, you’re taking your first step into a larger world.
BAYANI: Hey, Si…
Panel 3 (narrow):
Bayani clasps Si’s shoulders and looks into her eyes. Si looks right back.
BAYANI: I know you have to go.
BAYANI: I know that.
BAYANI: I just wanted to say…
Panel 4 (narrow):
Same view. Neither of them say a word. There isn’t anything they can say.
Panel 5 (narrow):
Same view. The two clamp together in a tearful hug.
SI: Tell pitā I love him.
Panel 6 (wide):
The inhabitants of the train bid Nancy and Si farewell as they journey down the tunnels.
HUW EDWARDS (box): “...an extraordinary event that has become familiar in a year of extraordinary events: an underground train lost in another world.”
