Now we’ve concluded our trans rights PSA, time to return to our regularly-scheduled myth arc nonsense.

↓ Transcript
Panel 1:
Joan smiles weakly. Lewis titters.

JOAN: Y’know, for a copper, yer not half-bad.

LEWIS: Oh believe me, I’m the most fascist pig out there, you just caught me at a time when I really need to restock my karma points.

Panel 2:
Lewis turns serious for a second, cop senses reactivating.

LEWIS: Just one question, where’d you get the dresses and makeup? That’s teen girl stuff and I don’t see any teen girls around here besides you.

JOAN: I didn’t nick ‘em, if thass why yer asking. I found ‘em in the spare bedroom.

Panel 3:
Lewis looks out the door across the landing to the open door of the spare bedroom.

LEWIS: You get many teeny-boppers staying over? Cousins? Airbnb-ers?

JOAN: No…?

JOAN: ...actually, I dunno what they’s was doing in there.

Panel 4:
Back in the car, Lewis and Des return from opposite ends.

Panel 5:
Same view. Lewis sits in contemplative silence as Des goes over her notes.

Panel 6:
Lewis opens his mouth. Des wonders what he’s talking about.

LEWIS: You ever wonder if your whole personality is just a flimsy theatre adaptation put on by someone who can’t speak English and never read the script?

DES: What’s got you existential all of a sudden?

LEWIS: If I told you I’d have to kill you.

LEWIS: Simar’s imaginary friend has been leaving kid’s dresses in the spare bedroom, what did you find?

DES: Something more substantive than that, I’d say.
