Panel 1:
Nancy is stayed mid-lunge by the 2nd golem swinging up, clocking her under the jaw and ripping her cloth off. E-D is mono-focused on the tablet.
E-D: Y’know…
E-D: ...I always knew I was special.
Panel 2:
Nancy lands on the floor, nose bleeding. Si is flinging herself away from the chief golem’s foot stomp from behind.
E-D (off-panel): Mom and dad, my tutors...ngh...none of ‘em could see it, thought I was an arrogant pipsqueak.
E-D (off-panel): They were rich...ack...successful! They came from conquerors and geniuses and passed that down to me! It was their fault I was better than everyone!
Panel 3:
E-D picks the phone off the floor.
E-D: So I showed ‘em how smart I was...gurchk...what I was capable of! Came up with things they never dreamed of!
E-D: But every step of the way, somebody...arck!...somebody wanted to tear me down! No matter what I did!
Panel 4:
Nancy and Si, back-to-back, watch their corners as E-D rises.
E-D: They were...guh...they were jealous, y’see, didn’t want someone like me to show up all the women and minorities and make them look bad.
E-D: So they paid off the hounds to go after me...mmnh!...tear me down! Cuz they were scared of me!
SI: “Them”, huh?
Panel 5:
E-D is clutching his head, in obvious pain but too mired in his persecution complex to care. His eyes are glowing yellow.
E-D: Yeah! “Them!” Jewwwwwws! Screw the euphemisms!
E-D: I buttered them up, made nice with ‘em, flattered ‘em, donated surveillance blimps to the IDF, but they just wouldn’t let up!
E-D: And now they’ve poisoned London against me! Infected their brains, made ‘em docile and stupid!
Panel 6:
Si and Nancy gulp together.
E-D (off-panel): But now I know why! Cuz I’ve surpassed them! And they can’t handle it!
NANCY: Boss bar time?
SI: You dun’t know the half of it...
