Chapter 5 – Page 032
Working from home offers flexibility not just for you but for the homeless vagrants who want to conduct weird experiments in your office space.

Panel 1 (tall):
Nancy has brought Si and Maleko into the inner courtyard of an office block, surrounded on three sides and stuffed with wheelie bins. Nancy is holding her instrument aloft and taking measurements.
NANCY: Right. Everyone’s working from home so this little hidey-hole should be nice and private for a little bout of intense combat.
NANCY: Give me a sec to calibrate, I don’t want any stray quantum imaginings to drop a pink elephant in the middle of the battlefield.
Panel 2:
Si and Maleko are half-slumped at the edge of the courtyard. Maleko is focused, if drained, but Si has something on her mind and really wants to say it aloud.
Panel 3:
Same view. Si finally gives vent, and Maleko pinches his nose in frustration.
SI: So…
SI: …”my rifle’s stone cold, if I don’t grab another’s people are gonna think”...?
MALEKO: Oh god, was that bit in English?
Panel 4:
Maleko and Si observe Nancy waving her wand around.
SI: Anything ya wanna confess?
MALEKO: Nothing I ain’t already confessed to the shrink.
MALEKO: “Anyone else in your position would’ve done the same.” ‘cept they didn’t, did they?
Panel 5:
Maleko clutches his knees, bitter. Si sympathises as best she can.
MALEKO: Ariston didn’t. Or Ranjit, or Manya. They fought to the last bullet.
MALEKO: …or…javelin, in Ariston’s case.
SI: I heard ‘em, Maleko, right outta yer mouth. They’s woz terrified, right up to the end, terrified as you’s woz.
