Panel 1:
Back at the hideout, Si is clutching her head, suffering a debilitating migraine, her violin strewn on the ground.
NANCY (interface): Ay! Si! If you’re compromised you better’ve eaten that transmission node! I’m not letting it fall into the hands of the Illuminati-!
SI: …paper-cut…
NANCY (interface): Huh?! Come again?!
SI: …I listened in, and all they talk…is paper-cuts!
Panel 2:
Si rises, eyes wide in alarm.
SI: They’re quantum, Nancy!
SI: The riot police! They’re quantum!
LEWIS (box): ‘So, what’d I miss?’
SAM (box): ‘Oh, nothing much, just an attempted lynching, god forbid that interrupt your busy schedule.’
Panel 3 (wide):
Pandora HQ has got a lot darker and more sinister than last we saw it. The trio hold conference amid a plethora of telescreens.
DES: Situation at St Paul’s seems under control, we have the hit-and-runner under protective custody for his own good.
DES: …wouldn’t mind if it was actual custody but he technically didn’t hurt anyone except the poor sod who’s got to fix the lamp post he ran into. Nutters online are already hailing him as a hero.
SAM: On the topic of nutters online, am I to understand they were pontificating loudly about gathering at St Paul’s for a solid hour before we noticed?
LEWIS: They’ve been pontificating loudly about gathering all over the city, we have only so many trendy whizz-kids on the monitoring team who can keep track of it all.
SAM: The eternal struggle.
Panel 4:
Sam loudly complains about the decor.
SAM: Also, if we’re talking personnel, can we find and sack whoever took out the skylight? I’m pushing sixty, fellows, I work best in light airy spaces, not the Red October!
DES: Think that’s the personal Derrider touch, guv.
Panel 5:
Same view. Sam refocuses.
SAM: Who’s in charge here, her or me?
LEWIS: I mean if you have to ask…
SAM: Enough! Suggestions, people!
