Because if there’s one thing a guy who’s watched every episode of Line Of Duty hates, it’s bent coppers.

Panel 1:
Side-view of Lewis, getting a little fed up at Carol’s delay.

LEWIS: Oh, please, do take your time, it’s not as if there’s a criminal on the loose or anything…

Panel 2:
Same view. A gun is trained on Lewis’ head. He doesn’t look surprised, just aggrieved.

SAM: Not so easy is it?

SAM: No patience, you young’uns. Thinking you could do in an afternoon what I couldn’t in ten years.

Panel 3 (wide):
Dishevelled, unshaven Sam, concealed in a hooded jacket, holds up Lewis, who raises his hands.

LEWIS: Guv.

SAM: Not anymore, remember? That was your doing.

SAM: What’d she pay you to betray your oath?

LEWIS: Exposure.

SAM: No…you were a plant from the start, weren’t you?

SAM: But which start, I wonder?

Panel 4:
Lewis turns slowly, arms still raised. Sam cocks his head.

SAM: Did you really get promoted into CID after cracking the Garth brothers moped ring?

SAM: Or did your benefactor slip you into my drink like arsenic and hope I wouldn’t notice?

Panel 5:
Sam and Lewis stare off at each other, Hong Kong action movie style.

SAM: I’ve been on the force longer than you’ve been alive, Lewis, you’re not the first bent copper I’ve shaken out.

SAM: Using quantum weirdness to get away with it doesn’t make you two any less corrupt.
