There is definitely a hierarchy to conspiracy theories, and there are some that are so clearly lying on top of the iceberg that they’d be visible from the Titanic.

Panel 1:
Rab Q lowers his glasses. His eyes are static and fuzzy, just like Nancy’s, but retain a lot more of their shape. Nancy takes umbrage at Rab’s suppositions.
RAB Q: Is this one’a those cases where you’ve spent so long fighting made-up conspiracies in your heid, you dunno what tae do with an honest-to-god real one?
NANCY: No, because none of those conspiracies were made up, thank-you-very-much.
NANCY: But the Malign Forces of Randomness are starting to win, which is the worst time for the fire driving me to splutter out! I’m a soldier, I need to stay in the fight!
Panel 2:
From Rab’s perspective, a range of emotions superimpose across Nancy’s features. Anger, regret and stiff resilience compete for attention.
RAB Q: And your magic sidekick is...wha...demobbing you? I seen yooz two at work, you’re a well-oiled machine, I cannae believe that…
NANCY: I know! She’s really good and really helpful and a wonderful ray of sunshine that makes me a better person!
NANCY: But things are gonna get tough from here on out! We need to get tough! I need to maintain my edge!
NANCY: And she doesn’t…
NANCY: ...have…
NANCY: ...an edge!
Panel 3
Rab Q squints, and grins. He sees what’s going on.
RAB Q: Ahhhhh…
RAB Q: This isnae about her effect on you. It’s your effect on her.
RAB Q: You’re goan somewhere dark and you dinnae want to drag your wonderful ray of sunshine down with ye.
NANCY: What do you suggest?
Panel 4:
Rab Q presses his glasses back on his brow with a glint.
RAB Q: Sounds tae me you’ve been hinking this over a lot. You’re a smart lass, you got an answer cooked already.
RAB Q: No all of us can sidle up tae the producers of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and get all the answers, eh no?
Panel 5:
Rab Q leans over whispering as Si returns with an overstuffed box.
RAB Q: Coz between you an me…
RAB Q: ...no way that coughing lady was acting withnae permission.
Panel 6:
Same view. Si dumps the box and leans on it, pouring derision on how cheap an imitation Nancy Rab is. Nancy takes yet more umbrage at her theories being made fun of.
SI: That’s it?
SI: That’s your pet conspiracy theory?
SI: Thass like...entry level, mate. Nancy’s been talking me ear off ‘bout Nazi moon bases since the border...
NANCY: NASA’s top scientist was Werner von Braun! Why’re you sticking up for a man who tried to kill you when we first met?!
