WE KNOW YOU CAN HEAR US, EARTHMEN.
↓ Transcript
Panel 1:
Nancy clambers into a container, apparently scot free, as the hi vis worker is clearly paying no attention to her.
PHONE: -and it looks like Rangers are making up for it with a belter of a charge up Celtic’s left side, setting up for a pass and oof that mistake’s going to cost them-
Panel 2:
Same view. Nancy stumbles and grips her headphones as a loud sound pierces every available audio transmitter.
PHONE/INSTRUMENT/TANNOY: Still waiting for that vodka and Red Bull, coward!
Panel 3:
Nancy stares up at the tannoy belting out this public address.
CAROL: I know you can hear me, Nancy Brilligan.
CAROL: You really thought you could sneak out of my city without so much as a kiss goodbye?
Panel 4:
Encased in dark shadows, hair gleaming, Carol Derrider hides in a balcony overlooking Buchanan Street, where various police are hustling shoppers away from Lewis and Rab Q holding Si prisoner. Carol is communicating via her hair.
CAROL: But then you’ve always prided yourself on being the principled uptight duty-over-self defender of relativity.
CAROL: Which is why you had my old schoolmate shipped off like a Deliveroo order, huh?
Panel 5 (narrow):
Nancy listens intently, coldly, one hand on the container door.
CAROL: Yeah, there was a problem with the driver, you’ll have to pick her up in person.
CAROL: Now, you being so enlightened and rational, of course you’ll just write her off.
Panel 6 (narrow):
Same view. Nancy scowls.
CAROL: Won’t you?
Panel 7 (narrow):
Same view. Nancy, enraged, slams the container door shut without her and marches back to battle.
NANCY (box): ...sentiment is the enemy.
