This page got weirdly complicated weirdly quickly, mostly thanks to the sheet note music needing to weave around the characters necessitating three separate layers of flats, shades and inks that were a massive nuisance to extricate from each other. Having the same background six times was meant to be a labour-saver, but this just proves the old adage that nothing wastes time harder than trying to save time.

Si is concentrating hard on investigating the problem. Nancy hovers, providing advice.
SI: There! A line from...somewhere! It’s snaking through this station, I can’t tell...what it’s connected to!
NANCY: Can you see a switch? Is there a way to stop it?
STRING: [Méditation (From Thaïs) – Jules Massenet]
Panel 2:
Same view. Si is happily playing away. Nancy is tense AF.
SI: Yes...yes! There is a switch!
SI: There’s five cats tied ta the line leading ta this station that might/might not die.
SI: But if I turn the switch, one cat tied ta a line leading away from the station might/might not die-!
NANCY: Just turn the switch! God!
STRING: [Méditation (From Thaïs) – Jules Massenet]
Panel 3:
Same view. Si ceases playing, very satisfied with herself. Nancy has her head in her hands.
SI: There!
SI: Joke’s on you, we’s getting the afternoon off after all-!
INTERFACE: Investigation End!
Panel 4:
Same view. Si and Nancy squint at the ceiling.
TANNOY: Be advised, the [NON-EUCLIDEAN] Line is partially suspended between [NON-EUCLIDEAN] and [NON-EUCLIDEAN], please use alternative routes.
NANCY: Alternative…?
Panel 5:
Same view. Si’s and Nancy’s stomachs visibly sink through the floor.
SI: Did...we...screw up...just now?

Same view. Si and Nancy leg it.
