I know which party I’d rather go to.

Panel 1:
Si is still glowing from how lovely Nancy has scrubbed up, but Nancy is all business.

NANCY: I need you to keep an eye out for Pandora in case they crash the Xoyo while I’m looking for E-D’s golem, and when the balloon goes up-

SI: I throw you your cricket bat!

NANCY: Preeetty sure I can requisition something big and heavy on-site.

Panel 2:
Si is shocked. Nancy is already half-distracted fiddling with her hidden instruments.

SI: B-but...y’can’t go mashing beasties without yer cricket bat! Iss…iss...

INTERFACE: Word suggestion: “iconic”

SI: Iconic!

NANCY: I can’t be wasting energy with your fan-fic, just be ready to back me up with those violin powers of yours. It’ll be nine soon and we need to be there in time to be fashionably late.

Panel 3 (wide):
Nancy and Si emerge from the Autoglas. The sun has set and everything is in shadow.

MASON (box): I see one of our brethren has deigned to grace our humble Lodge with his presence.

MASON (box): Nobody judge, I’m sure he’s been very busy.

Panel 4:
Wording, sashed up in full Mason regalia, is seething at the long lodge table as the Master of the Lodge at the head of the table is keeping him from his meal.

MASON (off-panel): Nevertheless, though Justice is indeed one of our cardinal virtues and his efforts in this cause have been exemplary, the virtues of Fortitude and Prudence hold equal importance to the maintenance of modern Masonry.

MASON (off-panel): Though I assume there will be no objections to putting the virtue of Temperance aside for this one evening. By sanction of the Grand Master, please feel free to indulge thyselves.

Panel 5:
Philip Newsom, a moustachioed gentleman, leans over to offer some words of comfort.

NEWSOM: Ignore him. He was passed over for promotion to head of CID so he’s taking it out on the rest of us.

WORDING: I was under the impression the Rites forbade politics inside the walls of the Lodge?

NEWSOM: Nothing in the Rites about office politics.
