Panel 1:
Carol turns, still pinning Nancy to the building, but some of the anger has dissipated. Nancy struggles a little, but not much.

SI (off-panel): ...sniff...

Panel 2:
Same view. Carol turns entirely, crossing her arms. She relinquishes hold of Nancy, who crashes to the ground.

CAROL: This should be entertaining…

CAROL: Pray explain, Lady Saria of the Skybourne, how my disappearance could possibly have been your fault?

Panel 3 (wide):
Si, slumped on the ground, is a snivelling, malfunctioning wreck of a person by this point, barely holding together, psychologically.

SI: ...nguh…

SI: ...wuh...”wanted ‘em ta go away”…

SI: ...thass...thass wot Nancy needed, right? To get her...g-get her parents back…

SI: ...that day...at the canal…

SI: ...your new phone...y’know how many names y’got before y’got t’me?

Panel 4:
Flashback. Back in the warm glow of the canal, Si swapping phone details with beaming Alice.

SI (off-panel): ...seventeen…

SI (off-panel): ...showed me yer screen, I counted ‘em...seventeen better, smarter, more popular people than me…

SI (off-panel): ...Bay an’ pitā were the only numbers I got…the prop, the pity case, the snivelling sidekick in yer shadow…

Panel 5:
Same flashback. Si has pressed a button on her phone and Alice has vanished into thin air.

SI (off-panel): ...an’...an’ I got this thought…

SI (off-panel): ...this dumb, stupid thought…

SI (off-panel): ...”if she jus’ went away, mebbe they’d be my friends, an’ I’d stop looking like a loser next to her”…

SI (off-panel): ...an’ I pressed the button...
